MISSION: To develop and maintain a network of informed faculty and staff who are willing to be visibly supportive of students who identify as Veterans or Military, and who will work to foster a “veteran-friendly” campus climate in which all students may feel safe, supported, respected, and affirmed.
Prospective RALLY POINT Volunteers are asked to attend a training session, during which they receive information on the challenges faced by veteran and military students. RALLY POINT Volunteers then agree to display the Rally Point sticker outside their office doors to let others know they are available to provide support and information about resources to student veterans, active service military students and their family members. This program is about helping those students who have done so much for us and assisting them to achieve their goals. It is also about making our university campus climate safer for all students, regardless of student status.
The RALLY POINT program is developed and coordinated by Veteran and Military Services (VMS), in conjunction with University stakeholders and the Student Veterans of America, Ole Miss Chapter. VMS is housed in the Center for Student Success and First Year Experience, on the 3rd floor of Martindale Hall.
